Day 5

Also known as, the day I ran 10 miles in the middle of a cleanse. I really want to be true to the challenge during the cleanse phase, so I tried to eat foods within the food plan. I just had them at different times and balanced my meals and snacks differently. Additionally, I moved the fiber and morning spark around.

So upon rising, I took my probiotics and catalyst.

A while later, for breakfast I had a MRS-

Then on my way to drop off the kids at school, I drank my favorite pre-run connection-
And ate 1/2 banana and a VO2 Prime bar.

Then I went about my business and had, I'll be honest, a terrible run. Could not get into a groove today. But, I put 9.9 miles in, and so, it's done.

After my run, I needed food, but didn't feel like I could eat. So, I made up another shake. I figured the carb to protein ratio would actually be pretty good for after a long run.

After icing my leg and showering, I finally had some lunch. One cup of brown rice with a serving of the leftover chicken taco chili.

I have no photo, but in the afternoon I had the most delicious latte-like concoction using an Advocare Coffecino. Just the pick me up I need!

Dinner-

Super yummy butternut squash fries, baked turkey, and green beans. Plus my OmegaPlex-
Evening snack on the hefty side-
Carrots and tomatoes with hummus, and some grapes.

Bedtime-
The usual, but also added some Nighttime Recovery:

Day 5 down, and cleanse halfway over!

Day 4

Pre-breakfast-

Breakfast-
I stocked up on Lemon when they had it because it is one of my favorites!

Morning snack-
I see my snacks have gotten monotonous. Going to try to change them up a bit after grocery shopping this weekend!

Lunch-
Chicken and veggie stew with brown rice. What can I say? It made a big batch and no one else in my house is eating it.

Pre-snack-

Afternoon snack-
Gingerbread. Yum!

A little saucy. Ha! Got rid of the last of this balsamic chicken though.

Evening snack-
Not the usual, having a banana and peanut butter before bed. Also some rehydrate. Loading up for a long run tomorrow.

Before bed:

Today's recap is basically that I felt great. I had energy and no feelings of hunger or cravings. Even riding home in the car with the kids pizza didn't send me over the edge- success!  I did have fairly extreme thirst in the afternoon that I can't quite understand, as I drink a ton of water every day. All in all, I feel so good.

Day 3.

I believe my first disclaimer will be to tell you why my food may look boring and repetitive. My husband is living in another state right now (we are in process of selling home and moving), so I make these recipes and then i'm the only one eating them. I decided instead of throwing food away (happens a lot unfortunately), I would eat what I make. Which unfortunately ends up being the same lunches and dinners for several days.

My second disclaimer is that I am currently training for another half-marathon (well, two of them actually!). I am finding that my running is having a hard time adjusting to the change in foods, so I am probably going to tweak my snacks a bit to allow for more carbs. Just hoping that helps.

But anyway, Day 3. I slept great last night and was headache free all day today! Thankful for that for sure.  Had a busy day, full of kid stuff. Had an extra snack in there because I found myself starving after my workout and at the pediatricians office. I had an Advobar in my bag so I pretty much scarfed it.

Morning-
Looking familiar by now:

Breakfast-

Morning snack-
I actually intended for this to be an apple with Peanut butter, but it was too hard to eat in the car so I grabbed eggs instead.

Exercise- not a lot of time, did 3 miles on treadmill, mostly running, but also some hill running with short walks in between.

Unplanned snack-
My favorite Advobar flavor.

Lunch-
Chicken and veggie stew with 1/2 cup brown rice.

Afternoon-
I missed snack after this, we got busy doing stuff.

Dinner:
Leftover chicken taco chili. I mashed a sweet potato and mixed it in for some carb, and also topped with avocado pieces.

Evening snack-
Carrots and guacamole.

Bedtime:
Catalyst and herbal cleanse.

Day 2

Ok. Keeping it real, I had middle of the night insomnia in a bad way, and I haven't had issues with that in a while. I also battled a headache that got progressively worse all through the day. By bedtime I was pretty over it. I am told this is expected as my body adjusts to the decline in processed carbs and as toxins are removed from the body. I can honestly say it was miserable, but something must be happening and man did I need this re-set, so I won't complain too much.

Pre-breakfast-

Breakfast:
This is a holiday flavor and I should have stocked up on a lot of it before they were gone. I love it so much.

Exercise- 30 minute treadmill sprints and 1 hour yoga (stretchy, relaxing yoga)

Snack:
2 eggs and an apple. I'm sure my snacks are boring, but these are the easiest to grab and go.

Lunch-

One pan chicken and veggies with a sweet potato.

Pre-snack-

Afternoon snack-
The blobs are a little bit of wholly guacamole and a little bit of hummus.

Dinner:
Leftover chili with avocado on top.

Night snack-
Edamame and grapes.

Bedtime:
Catalyst and herbal cleanse.

Day 1.

First thing in the morning- drink Spark and take Probiotic Restore and Catalyst.

Breakfast-
Good old fiber drink. I actually drink this daily, so it wasn't much of a shock to my system.

Delicious, delicious meal replacement shake. This is a typical breakfast for me. I make it blended with 12 oz's of water and a bunch of ice. Tastes like a milkshake.

Workout- 30 minute walk on treadmill at 15% incline; 15 minute (roughly 2 miles) rowing; abs

Morning snack-
Grapes and hard boiled egg after my workout.

Lunch-

Clearly I am not a good photographer. Lunch was a delicious chicken and vegetable stew that I ate over 1/2 cup brown rice.

30 minutes before afternoon snack-

Afternoon snack-

Tuna salad made with mashed up avocado, one hardboiled egg white and some Mrs Dash. It was delicious. I used the celery to scoop it up and eat.

Dinner-

http://www.skinnytaste.com/2008/11/crock-pot-chicken-taco-chili-4-pts.html?m=1

I omitted the corn, and I threw some cut up avocado on top- about 1/4 of an avocado.

Also took my Omega Plex, which is my favorite fish oil supplement regardless of if I am doing a challenge or not.

I have been trying to eat dinner with the kids and they eat early, thus, I think this challenge I will likely implement evening snack most days.

Tonight's snack-

Grapes and Edamame.

Before bed:

3 more Catalyst and herbal cleanse tablets.

My notes about day 1-
I love eating healthy, nutritious foods. I am coming off the holidays and I had a lot of treats. My body is not used to all these great foods! I was most expecting to miss my coffee, as I truly just cherish my morning cup. It's just hot and delicious and habitual. I honestly did not miss it today. So, winning day one.

Another ALL IN 24 day challenge

I'll be honest, I have derailed a bit. I got pretty sick back in September and just never quite got myself back on track after that. So despite timing of this challenge not being the best for me, I decided to just do it. I mean, I KNOW it works, and that's pretty much the kickstart I need right now. I love how it really gets me back to eating mostly healthy, whole, real foods.

I will attempt to log my food here, as I do the challenge.

I am ALL IN.
